Strength and Conditioning
Welcome to the Strength and Conditioning Page

Dear Hawks Family,

April 5, 2023 at 8 A.M. Giving Day will begin here at Chowan University. This is a big day for the entire University. In the Strength and Conditioning department we help athletes of every single sport on campus improve overall physical fitness and build healthy habits to improve attributes that include, but are not limited to mental acuity, cardiorespiratory endurance, and flexibility. Here at Chowan University we pride ourselves on using strength and conditioning methodology, and can tailor a program from beginner to high performance athletes.

At its simplest form Strength and Conditioning is defined as the practical application of sports science to enhance movement quality. It is grounded in evidence-based research and physiology of exercise and anatomy. We all move and therefore we can all benefit from a better quality of movement.

Our goal this Giving Day is to raise $5,000 to allow us to update necessary equipment and replace items that break down throughout the year (i.e. resistance bands/foam rollers). We would like to paint our auxiliary rooms and improve these spaces to be more functional.

We thank you in advance for any donation you’re able to contribute and look forward to improving this space for the Hawk athletes.
